Happy Thanksgiving!!! Practicing gratitude every day helps get me through some of the toughest moments even when my bipolar is storming by brain with thoughts of hopelessness, anxiety, worthlessness, fears, and stress. Being aware that the intensity of the storm is not real and is in fact my bipolar symptoms, helps me to start to calm the storm. I try to not just think of but actually write down or type out a few things to be grateful for, practice deep breathing or guided meditation, try to get outside for a walk if the weather allows and reach out to a friend, family member or my SO for support. My psych nurse practitioner and therapist are also vital instruments to calm the storm. I am so grateful for my family and friends and everyone in my support network including this online community! Thank you and I hoped you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And if you happen to be having a tough day please feel free to comment or message me! ❤️ We can tame the bipolar beast together!
Thanks for reminding me of those simple everyday things to do to tame the beast. When the storm rise, I tend to forget about the tools. A good day (or even hour) to you all!
